The Hemlock Swamp Mitigation Bank is located east of the intersection of Cork Cold Springs Road and State Route 45 in Austinburg Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio.
Hemlock Swamp is owned by S+W. The intent is for the project to be transferred to the long-term steward upon the completion of monitoring.
The Grand River Umbrella Mitigation Banking Instrument (UMBI) will consist of a portfolio of mitigation bank sites and will provide compensatory mitigation to offset unavoidable impacts. The 150.3 -acre Hemlock Swamp Wetlands Mitigation Bank is the first project established and operated under the Grand River UMBI.
